Installation of Retrofit Window.
This customer needed a new window frame and glass to replace the old window frame that had fallen apart. The old window had been significantly damaged where the only fix was to replace the entire window. Many times we can replace the glass or repair a window but not in a case such as this where the damage is so extensive. We replaced the old window with a new vinyl flush fin XO retrofit. X stands for slider or operator panel and O stands for stationary or inoperable. The retrofit was a custom size with a lead time of 2/3 weeks. While we do stock many standard size retrofit windows custom size windows do have a slightly longer lead time. Retrofits are a nice option when replacing a window because there is no stucco or drywall damage. Retrofit windows also have energy efficiency properties that older windows do not have including vinyl frames, low e glass and argon gas filled units.
